My Work
Diane Doig (she/her) is a native of Montreal and is a professional French Horn player living in Toronto. She studied at McGill University with John Zirbel and at the St. Louis Conservatory with Roland Pandolfi. She is an active freelancer playing with various orchestras around Ontario, has done many shows in Toronto, including Wicked, The Sound of Music and eight years as Principal French Horn for Phantom of the Opera.
In 1991, Diane started taking private lessons in the Alexander Technique. The Alexander Technique is a method of improving posture and movement that emphasizes conscious awareness and control of the body.
In 2012 she suffered a brain aneurysm. During her recovery, she found the technique to be extremely helpful and decided to pursue a certification as a teacher at The Toronto Alexander Technique School.
Diane has witnessed firsthand how the Alexander Technique has helped people improve posture, reduce pain and tension and increase overall well-being, and she firmly believes that it can benefit anyone who practices it.

What is the Alexander Technique?
The Alexander Technique is a method of learning how to use one's body with ease and efficiency in everyday life. It is a self-help solution for the common physical problems that come with modern living. Certified registered teachers of the Alexander Technique use hands-on guidance to help teach people to recover their natural poise by learning how to use their bodies.
I offer hands-on lessons in my studio in Toronto and Stratford, Ontario.
The lessons are 30-45 minutes long.
